HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director in charge you will be responsible for all aspects of company safety and management systems.

The Role

The role is focused on helping to ensure the safe delivery of all projects and long-term contracts across the organization. This involves working closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to establish and maintain high safety standards throughout all stages of project development and execution. This role plays a crucial part in upholding the company's commitment to prioritizing the well-being of its employees and partners while ensuring successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities for the Health and Safety Manager will include:

  • Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation
  • Visiting sites and engaging with teams and managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical Health and Safety related enquires
  • Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations & managing a small, closeknit health and safety team
  • Engaging with the client and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact
  • Prepare Construction Phase Health and Safety plans, Health & Safety file and Operational and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Any other reasonable duties to ensure smooth and efficient running of the health, safety, welfare, quality, and environmental functions within the company.

Minimum education and experience requirements:

  • BSc in Health and Safety/Higher Diploma SHWW/ Diploma SHWW
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling
  • 5+ years relevant Construction experience essential

SITE ENGINEER

The Role:

  • Set out the works and ensure that foremen and operatives clearly understand the information provided
  • Disseminate information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required
  • Test materials as directed by your supervisor/line manager in accordance with the relevant specifications
  • Work proactively with the company software packages including Procore
  • Record all daily activities, relevant information and occurrences in your site diary
  • Good working knowledge of all setting out equipment including GPS and robotic instruments.
  • Record and report on work progress including that of subcontractors to your manager
  • Pursue, proactively your own development and training. (i.e., complete the work-based development programme in a timely manner)
  • Conduct your work in a safe manner - correct and report those who do not
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with all personnel.
  • Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment.
  • Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work
  • Follow directions and attend meetings as required
  • Assistance with the collection BCAR information
  • Working with Irish water representatives and procedures


Who are we looking for?

  • A third level qualification in Engineering / construction management
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in setting out or site engineer
  • Experience working with a main contractor, subcontractor, surveying firm or similar preferred
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Project, PowerPoint etc.
  • Good working Knowledge of Ground works and Irish water

QUANTITY SURVEYOR

The Role:

  • Preparation of tenders/budgets for projects
  • Procurement of Subcontractors, including monitoring of packages on site, re-measure of works, agreeing variations as they arise, agreeing final accounts
  • Working closely with Contract and Project Managers to identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Ensuring accurate & timely contract administration#
  • Undertaking interim and final valuations for works complete
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with design teams, clients and our supply chain
  • Prepare detailed monthly cost reports
  • Responsible for all aspects of cost management on the project


Who are we looking for?

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Economics
  • Min of 3 years relevant experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience working on Public Works & RIAI contracts
  • Ambitious / Motivated and keen to progress in your career
  • Strong PC Skills essential
  • Strong communicator and Team Player essential
